What Family Means To Me...
Okay, my family.... I am an only child and was very lonely most of my life.

*
My parents got divorced when I was four. I lived with my mom my whole life except for one year.
*
My father got remarried when I was around 8 or 9. So, I have a stepmother. They don't have children either.
*
My mother's parents and my father's mother is still alive. My grandparents on my mom's side are wonderful. They don''t judge. They don't criticize, they do try to help and understand, and they love us no matter what. My grandma on my dad's side is a wonderful lady too. She's sick and I feel bad. She used to take care of me after school when I was young. She is real Italian and cooked a lot of great meals. Although very old fashioned, she loves me no matter what. Her husband, my papa, died when I was 4 or 5. I never really knew him.
*
I have a lot of cousins. I am right in the middle on my mom's side, I have two older boy cousins and two younger girl and one younger boy cousins. On my dad's side I WAS the baby until my second cousins started to come around.
Here is a picture of me and my cousin and a friend on Christmas Eve 1996:

I don't associate with some of my family too much because I believe they don't like me. Some of them feel I should perfect to their expectations...and I don't and won't...so I don't fit in with them.

But, there is my mother. I love my mother a lot. It is hard to bring some things up for conversation with her, but she usually listens and I know she tries to understand. I know my Mom did the best she could with me (and hey, I don't think I turned out TOO bad). I love my Mom and wouldn't trade her for the world!!
My mother and I have gone through some rough times. But, we always manage to work it out somehow and we never stay mad.

I went home for Christmas of 1996 and my Mom and I had a wonderful week together. She is really a great person, it's just when we live together that things get tough. So, living apart is good, but I wish we weren't so far apart. I love her deeply and I hope she KNOWS that.

My mother used to say she didn't like kids... then I had my daughter. I've never seen my mother so loving before. She just adores K and K adores her Granny.

Family means a lot to me... In the future, I plan to marry my Mr. Right and get married in a Church of our choice as long as it's Christian. I would like to be married for forever and eternity. I love children and want them more than anything in the world. I would like about eight kids (well, at least four)...so, I have to marry someone who really LOVES children!

I think the most important thing in life is your family. You, your spouse, your children, and your parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and so on. I will love and honor my family.
