Katie and I have been friends since high school. She is 2 years younger than me. We met when I was in 11th grade. Katie is a really great friend. We've been through a lot together. We've gotten mad at each other and gotten over it. That's what friendship is all about.
Now, we both have children. We watch them grow and let them play together. We do things together and it's still really fun.
I think one of my favorite things about her is that she loves to gossip. No matter where I was or how long I was out of touch, all I had to do was call Katie and I'd get a full update on everyone. That was always reassuring.
As a tradition, we go to the fair every year together. Last year we were there with our young kids. Now, our kids are older and I'm sure they will enjoy it more.
I went on vacation with them this summer and that was fun. Katie has 5 siblings!!!! Just after the vacation, two of her sisters said that I was around so much I seemed like one of their sisters. That made me feel good because I have no siblings and always wanted a couple.
I hope that our friendship lasts forever! Good ones usually do.
